How It Works

How This Equipment Works

V-Beam 원리

V-Beam emits light at a 595nm wavelength, which is close to the wavelength band strongly absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood, and is designed to be selectively absorbed by vascular tissue. This principle is called selective photothermolysis, and it helps relatively preserve surrounding normal tissue while the target tissue, the blood vessels, undergoes thermal damage.

The pulse width can be adjusted in a range of about 1.5–40ms, allowing the energy delivery method to be varied according to size and depth, from thin, shallow spider veins to relatively thick vessels. The absorbed energy is known to work by causing thermal coagulation in the vessel wall, inducing the vessel to be gradually absorbed and disappear.

To reduce epidermal damage, a cooling device is often used together with the irradiation, which can help lower discomfort during the treatment and the risk of epidermal thermal damage.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does the treatment hurt or sting?

A. There may be a momentary stinging or rubber-band-snap sensation, and a cooling device is often used together to reduce discomfort.

Q. Do bruise-like marks (purpura) remain after the treatment?

A. Depending on the energy setting, purpura may temporarily appear in the treated area, usually tending to fade gradually over a few days to as long as 1–2 weeks.

Q. How many sessions are needed to expect improvement?

A. The number of sessions needed can vary depending on the size and depth of the vessels and the type of lesion, so it is often performed several times at regular intervals.

Q. Are there any precautions after the treatment?

A. Avoiding stimulation of the area where purpura has formed and applying sufficient sun protection can help with recovery.
