How It Works

How This Equipment Works

Lotus III 원리

The Er:YAG laser emits a wavelength of 2940nm, which falls within the band very strongly absorbed by moisture (water molecules) in the skin. Its absorption rate for water is among the highest of all lasers, so the energy is absorbed at a very shallow depth of the tissue surface (on the order of a few micrometers) and works by instantly vaporizing the tissue.

Thanks to this characteristic, the extent to which heat spreads to surrounding tissue is reported to be relatively small compared with the carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, so it is known to allow precise ablation while reducing the risk of side effects from thermal damage. Lotus III can be used by combining a single-beam mode and a fractional (fine-dot) mode, allowing the intensity to be adjusted across a wide range from light texture refinement to lesion removal.

Along with surface ablation, the thermal stimulation applied to the upper dermis is reported to be able to help induce collagen production, though the degree can vary depending on the treatment intensity and individual skin condition.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is the treatment painful?

A. You may feel a stinging sensation depending on the treatment intensity and area, so a numbing cream can be used together if needed.

Q. Is there scabbing or downtime after the treatment?

A. Depending on the intensity, fine scabs or redness may remain for a few days; it is important to let the scabs fall off naturally and not to pick them off forcibly.

Q. About how many sessions are needed?

A. The number of sessions and intervals needed can vary depending on the type and depth of the lesion and the skin condition, so it is best to establish a plan through a consultation.

Q. What should I be careful about in aftercare?

A. Sufficient moisturizing and thorough sun protection are needed during the recovery period, and avoiding direct sunlight is recommended to help prevent hyperpigmentation.
