Signature Redness Care · Mellow Dermatology (Yeongdeungpo)

If your skin flushes easily
and stays red far too long

The root cause of recurring facial redness is ‘dilated blood vessels.’ Left untreated, it can develop into a chronic vascular condition — which is why we introduce Mellow’s signature redness treatment, precisely addressing the cause itself with the V-Beam 595nm vascular laser.

Why It Returns

Redness is not a surface issue —
it’s a vascular one

A damaged skin barrier becomes sensitive to external triggers, and inflammatory mediators dilate the vessels even further. The more this vicious cycle repeats, the longer the redness lingers. That’s why the answer isn’t surface soothing, but treating the dilated vessels themselves.

Type 01 · Facial Redness

Cheeks and nose that flush easily

Cold wind, spicy food, alcohol, stress and exercise turn the cheeks and nose red with a burning sensation. And it takes longer and longer for the flush to settle.

Type 02 · Rosacea

Capillary dilation + inflammation

A chronic inflammatory condition in which dilated capillaries appear alongside acne-like inflammatory papules and pustules on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. The weakened barrier makes the skin highly sensitive.

Type 03 · Post-acne Redness (PIE)

The redness left behind after acne

Redness that remains even after acne has healed. It’s caused by superficial vessel dilation and works through a different mechanism than brown pigmentation (PIH).

Core Technology

V-Beam 595nm —
only the red vessels, precisely

V-Beam is a pigment laser (PDL) that selectively targets only hemoglobin in the blood, the source of redness. It clears the vessels while protecting the surrounding healthy skin.

How the 595nm pulsed dye laser selectively destroys dilated capillaries

Selective Photothermolysis

Selective photothermolysis

The 595nm light is selectively absorbed by hemoglobin and converted into heat, coagulating the dilated vessel walls and narrowing the vessel lumen. It resolves the source of redness at the vascular level.

How DCD cooling spray protects the epidermis while the 595nm laser is delivered

DCD Dynamic Cooling

DCD dynamic cooling

Just before each laser pulse, a cooling spray instantly chills the epidermis, reducing the risk of burns and pain while precisely targeting only the vessels within the dermis.

4-Step Protocol

From diagnosis to soothing, in four steps

Redness is a problem where the vessels and the barrier are intertwined. We design diagnosis → vascular laser → barrier recovery → soothing as a single, continuous flow.

01

Precise diagnosis

Imaging analysis assesses the severity of redness, the vessel distribution and the stage of progression to map out the scope of treatment.

02

Vascular laser

V-Beam 595nm is combined with Clarity II 1064nm to clear vessels layer by layer, from superficial to deep.

03

Barrier recovery

Needle RF (Secret) stimulates the dermis to regenerate collagen and strengthens the weakened skin barrier from within.

04

Soothing care

Cryocell cooling and LDM ultrasound calm the flushed skin and replenish moisture to support recovery.

Devices

From vessels to barrier —
a different device for every step

The device needed varies with the cause of the redness and its stage of progression. We combine the role of each device to address vessels, barrier and soothing together.

Deep vessels · Pigment

With dual Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths, it addresses pigment and deep vascular lesions together. Paired with V-Beam, it clears superficial and deep vessels layer by layer.

Barrier recovery · Regeneration

Microneedles deliver radiofrequency into the dermis to induce collagen regeneration and strengthen the weakened skin barrier from within. It helps break the vicious cycle in which redness keeps recurring.

Soothing · Cooling

Sub-zero cooling with microcurrent and soothing ampoules quickly calms the skin flushed after treatment and reduces irritation. It’s the finishing care that helps sensitized skin recover.

Moisture · Barrier

It evenly infuses moisture and growth factors to support recovery of the damaged barrier. By replenishing sensitive, dry, red-prone skin from within, it helps break the cycle of recurring redness.

Rosacea Stages

Rosacea, by stage of progression

Rosacea progresses in stages the longer it is left untreated. The intensity and combination of treatment depend on which stage you are at now.

StageKey characteristics
Grade 1Transient redness and warmth — the skin flushes only when triggered, then settles.
Grade 2Fixed capillary dilation (spider veins) — the redness is persistently visible.
Grade 3Inflammatory papules and pustules — accompanied by red, acne-like swollen lesions.
Grade 4Hypertrophic changes — an advanced stage where the skin thickens and becomes bumpy.

※ Treatment effects and responses may vary from person to person, and side effects may occur.

Expert Care

The redder the skin,
the more an ‘accurate diagnosis’ comes first

Facial redness and rosacea are not simply redness — they are chronic conditions in which the vessels and the barrier are intertwined. Trying to erase only the surface redness makes it easy for it to return.

When we first read the vessel distribution and stage of progression through precise imaging diagnosis, and design the vascular laser, barrier recovery and soothing as a single flow, the redness stops resurfacing.

★ Principles of Mellow’s signature redness care

  • Confirm vessel distribution and stage of progression through precise imaging diagnosis
  • Target the dilated vessels themselves, not just surface soothing
  • Integrate vessel + barrier + soothing into one continuous flow

Before & After Care

Before and after treatment, just these few things
make all the difference in how redness recovers

After treatment, temporary redness, stinging and mild purpura (bruising) may occur, and usually settle within a few days. Avoid UV exposure, saunas and excessive heat, alcohol, and spicy or hot foods, and focus on moisturizing and soothing — so you can reduce the reaction and keep the results longer.
