Ultherapy uses a focusing method that concentrates multiple beams of ultrasound energy onto a single point. Much like a magnifying glass focusing sunlight on one spot, it concentrates ultrasound at a specific depth to generate localized heat only at that point.
The tiny Thermal Coagulation Points (TCP) formed this way can reach, depending on the depth, not only the dermis but also the SMAS layer that is the target of facelift surgery. As the tissue coagulates and contracts from the heat, an immediate tightening effect appears, and afterward new collagen is produced during the body's natural healing process, leading to a gradual lifting effect.
