How It Works

How This Equipment Works

Glycolic acid weakens the intercellular binding substances such as desmosomes that hold corneocytes together, helping old, hardened dead skin cells to shed naturally. In this process, epidermal turnover (the cell renewal cycle) is promoted, inducing a regeneration process in which new corneocytes rise to the surface.

As the stratum corneum is cleared, the skin surface becomes smoother, and the absorption of active ingredients may also improve. In addition, repeated treatments have been reported to somewhat promote collagen synthesis in the dermis, which is known to help improve skin texture and elasticity.

Since the degree of stimulation and the intensity of the effect vary depending on the concentration, application time, and timing of neutralization, it is common to perform the treatment by adjusting the concentration in stages according to the skin condition.
