How It Works

How This Equipment Works

Hyaluronic acid, the main ingredient of Belotero, is a polysaccharide that naturally exists within the skin's dermis and has the property of attracting and binding moisture. Using this property, it forms volume at the injection site and works to supplement the moisture of surrounding tissues.

Belotero is made through a patented manufacturing process called CPM (Cohesive Polydensified Matrix), which cross-links hyaluronic acid in stages to form areas of differing density within a single gel. Thanks to this structure, the filler blends flexibly with the tissue, and it is known for having little lumping after injection and maintaining a relatively natural texture.

Depending on the product line, the viscosity and degree of cross-linking are designed differently, so a formulation suited to the characteristics of the treatment area — from the superficial dermis to the deep dermis and subcutaneous layer — is selected for use.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is the procedure painful?

A. There may be a pricking pain during injection, and depending on the area, discomfort can be reduced with topical numbing cream or an anesthetic ingredient (such as lidocaine) included in the filler. The degree of pain varies from person to person.

Q. How long does the procedure take?

A. Including consultation and preparation, it is often completed in about 15-30 minutes, and this may vary depending on the treatment area and extent.

Q. How long does the effect last?

A. Hyaluronic acid filler is gradually broken down in the body over time, so the effect is not permanent, and the duration may vary depending on the area and the individual's metabolic rate. Additional treatment may be considered if necessary.

Q. Are there any precautions after the procedure?

A. Swelling, bruising, or redness may appear right after the procedure, and most subside over time. Avoid excessive massage or pressure, saunas, and alcohol on the day, and it is best to apply sufficient sun protection.
